Same county, same courts

A probate case is filed in the county where the person who died lived, and an eviction is filed in the county where the property is. For Fort Lauderdale, that is Broward County, which is also where my office is. The main Broward courthouse is in downtown Fort Lauderdale. We can start by phone or online, and meet at my office in Hollywood by appointment when that helps.

Questions

Fort Lauderdale questions

I'm buying a condo in Fort Lauderdale. Can you review the condo documents?

Yes. I review the contract and the association's documents, including the budget, the reserve study and any inspection reports, and explain what they show. Send me the contract as soon as you have it, because the time to cancel after you receive the condo documents can be short.

Can you act for my company as a landlord in Fort Lauderdale?

Yes. I act for individual landlords and for companies. A company generally has to be represented by an attorney in court, so it's better to bring me in before any notice is served.

Which court hears probate for someone who lived in Fort Lauderdale?

The probate division of the Broward County court. Fort Lauderdale is in Broward, the same county as my office, so I'm already working in these courts.
